Introduction to Creative Application of the Five Elements
This one day workshop will give you an opportunity to start exploring the ancient metaphorical model of the Five Elements and hopefully get a sense of how it may enrich both your life and your therapeutic practice. The day both stands on its own but can also be a stepping stone to the comprehensive Diploma in Creative Application of the Five Elements.
Practicalities
Cost: £70.
Dates: A Saturday in June 2025 from 10am to 4pm with one hour for lunch.
Location: TBC in South Hants.
Eligibility: This is open to both qualified and trainee Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists. The workshop involves five hours of boundaried group discussions and paired (dyad) practices.
Technical: To view the supporting online resources, you'll need 1) A computer (laptop, PC, Mac, Chromebook etc) or tablet and 2) To use an existing, or create a new, Google account.
Preparation: Five hours reading about the key concepts, watching videos and doing a few preparatory tasks.
Additional resources: You get the kit you need to do the Five Element activities. On top of this, depending on what creative materials you have access to, you may need to source some white card, felt tips and colouring pencils.
Learning outcomes
This workshop aims to give you a taste of how to apply the Five Elements metaphors to support your clinical work. It does this by giving you opportunities to:
Start to explore what the Five Elements mean to you.
Facilitate and receive a creative therapeutic intervention based on the Five Element metaphors.
Explore the use of acu-touch and acu-tapping methods to promote mindful, embodied, balancing inquiry.
